McLame Hates Us But Obama’s Making Effort

July 06, 2008 By: cas Category: General, News No Comments →

It was a long and arduous race, but now that we are down to two candidates it is important to focus on each one’s ability to lead this country back into good health. Girl, I care about the issues but number one for me right now is the overall state of the country. I’ve done my research and McLame really bores me. Obama may not be my first choice, but he certainly seems like a good man.

Since California legalized gay marriage, the two front-runners have spoken out about the issues. Neither candidate supports same-sex marriage, but it seems like Obama is going in the right direction for LGBT America.

Check out this cute message the pride breakfast of the LGBT Alice B. Toklas Club in SanFran received: “II Kissed a Presidential Candidate and I Liked It oppose the divisive and discriminatory efforts to amend the California Constitution, and similar efforts to amend the US Constitution or those of other states… I want to congratulate all of you who have shown your love for each other by getting married these last few weeks.”

This man seems to know how to speak to everyone but the religion and gun crazy folk in small town Pennsylvania (bless us all)!

In the message, he also endorsed a bunch of good stuff that we should probably remember: repealing the ban on out-of-the-closet LGBT members in the military and 100% complete equal rights to same-sex couples under state AND federal law! Good bye significance of number 1,138!

As for McLame, you can imagine that all he had to say was, well — lame. As he spoke with some evenagelical leaders in Ohio, he pointed out that he was in support of amending the constitution in order to “recognize marriage as a unique institution between a man and a woman, just as we did in my home state of Arizona.” The next paragraph I read in the Gay City News article seemed so significant, I thought I’d quote it word for word:

“Phil Burgess, who led the successful effort to ban same-sex marriage in the Ohio Constitution in 2004, told the newspaper, ‘We told him if he didn’t come out and share his pro-family stances on these issues, then he can kiss Ohio good-bye.’”

Way to pull those strings, Phil Buttkiss. You’re a jerk! I bet you think homosexuality is caused by childhood trauma too. Well, y’all know how I feel about the situation. What do you think about this coming election regarding gay rights?

How to Register

June 30, 2008 By: cas Category: General No Comments →

This week I will have a bit of extra time to do my share of fixing up the site. Hopefully through all of this it will make the ease of access a bit more simple. We got our wires crossed a bit, so a bunch of newer members ended up registering at WordPress instead of AngryRainbows, however the above “Register” button is now fixed. Many apologies for the mix up.

If you would like to join our other LGBT members in our free chat or forums, all you will have to do is register by clicking the link and you will then have access to both the room and the forums. Whatever name you pick for your forum username will carry over to the chatroom. For privacy issues, you will need to use it to login again.

Other updates: I am looking into expanding the main page into a more user-oriented atmosphere. If you have any suggestions or ideas, please feel free to leave them in the comments section, or in the forums.

Thank you to all of our members!

Girlfriend, Boyfriend, or Ninja: Apply!

Boyfriend Application

Girlfriend Application

Ninja Application

Ok. Well, seeing as I already have a girlfriend, your chances are looking pretty slim — but hey! You never know! The positions of boyfriend and ninja, however, are completely open! So, who is it gonna be? Am I going to have to “downsize” my girlfriend quota in order to employ a new one? Hmm, I have a feeling I am not going to be getting any backrubs in the near future…

Apply now!

Lezbolicious Wednesday!

April 23, 2008 By: cas Category: Fun, General 1 Comment →

Ah, yes. I remember the days of being 7-years-old, playing in the dirt with the neighbors while our mothers sat together and imagined what a wonderful couple we’d make some day. Little did they know that I had just pushed little Johnny down on his 8-year-old tush for singing that unfathomably, awful “K-I-S-S-I-N-G” song. Ugh. Have I always hated men? Well, yes. I mean — no. But ultimately, yes.

I think it has something to do with the amount of Nerf guns my father bought me as a child. One of my favorite things to do as a little tyke (huh huh) was to make the dog sit and stay in random areas, and then shoot her in the boot with those foamy arrows. I don’t think she minded at all, I mean any attention was attention and if that meant arrow in the butt, then that meant arrow in the butt.

Who am I kidding, I was totally born this way! I practically chainsawed my way out of my mother’s womb, toolbelt in tact. All I was missing were the Doc Martens. But this isn’t really about me. Well, it is about me.

Hmm. Awkward…

While we finish the site, watch these!

Review: Queer Republic Tee’s!

April 13, 2008 By: cas Category: Fashion, General 1 Comment →

I was doing my typical habit of combing through the internet to find a cool site that sells LGBT gear, when lo and behold, this one jumped up and bit me in the butt!

Queer Republic Tee’s is a pretty great site, not like all of those other LGBT “clothing lines.” They cater to today’s generation and their prices are about the same as what you would find in a little shop. Their selection seems to be growing, but what they have now is pretty cool.

From the Queer Republic Tee’s Website:

Not your typical lame-ass rainbow crap.
In business since the summer of 2006, Queer Republic Tees is a t-shirt company located in Atlanta, Georgia. With a small staff of 2.5 part-time humans and 2 full-time dogs, we are working around the clock to eradicate tired symbols of gayness like the rainbow and the pink triangle. It is a fact that gays & lesbians are a creative bunch, so why is it that there aren’t that many creative t-shirts out there for us? Why is there a lesbian still wearing a shirt that reads, “I’m not gay but my girlfriend is.” WTF? C’mon people! We can do better than that!

Check them out! These ads will take you directly to their site!

What’s going on

April 11, 2008 By: t.check Category: General No Comments →

Hiya! As many of you know, this site is currently in a beta phase. I hope you know what beta means, but for those of you that don’t its like a phase where we are still working out issues and tweaking the site to work exactly (or close to it) how we want. So anyway, for those of you who care to read on, I’ll fill you in on exactly what’s being done:

A much better forum
As you have seen at http://forums.angryrainbows.com, our forums have been completely revamped. The colors don’t make your eyes bleed, avatars can be larger than 100×100 pixels, and much more. It’s like, so awesome =]. And since it isn’t finished yet, you can expect even more. Yay!

A stupendous chatroom

Yes, I just said stupendous. Anywho, the chatroom is yet another thing that has been improved. In the new chatroom you can have font colors, themes, and an extensive list of emoticons. We have also removed the “name switching/multi login” feature by linking your forum account to the chatroom. This means that if you sign up at the forum, an account is automatically made for you on the chatroom (http://chat.angryrainbows.com). If you are already logged in on the forum, you will also be logged in on the chatroom (quite nifty). What’s not to love?

A phenomenal forum

What you are reading right now is apart of our new blog. Pretty cool, eh? Very soon, your account on the forum/chatroom will be linked to this blog so you can just use one login for all three parts of our site. At this time, you must signup twice (once on the forum, once here) to use all the features of the site. We also would like to have user contributed blogs as well as pages for each blogger. How exciting!

Administration that kicks ass

I hope I won’t get in trouble for using that “profain” word, but whatever. All of our new features (blog, forum, chatroom) have many more administrative features for staff to make sure that you are in a happy, troll-free environment. Some of these features include a warning system (on the forum), a comment approval system (on the blog), and the ability to kick users from rooms (on the chatroom). Hopefully these features will enhance everyone’s experience and make it a pleasant one (except for Cas, it’s just fun to kick her out of the rooms).

Welcome to (Angry) Rainbows!

April 10, 2008 By: cas Category: General No Comments →

Hey guys, this is Cas blogging on behalf of (Angry) Thai and t.check. You are all probably wondering what the heck is going on. First let me answer a few questions:

Have I been banned from the LGBTeam site?
Yes and no. Yes, you have, but everyone else has been banned as well. The reason for this is because we’re opening everything up over here! Right now, two-thirds of the (Angry) Rainbow design team are modifying everything to keep it a happy site for you!

Do we have to start over with the forums?
Yes, unfortunately. I will not, however, close down the forum completely, so you can still access and read previous posts. It’s going to be a big loss at first, but I know we can get these thins going again. Fill those boards up while they’re new!

Why can’t I log in to the chat? I registered!
You have to register at the forums page! If you simply register on the main page for now, all it does is sign you up to the blog of this site. You must register by going to http://forums.angryrainbows.com. Then, you will be able to access the chatroom, forums, and whatever else is to come.

Any other questions you have, feel free to add in the comments section of this blog. They will be answered, and posted in this entry for your convenience.

Secondly, thank you for being patient with us as we get everything up and rolling! We will keep you informed of updates here.

Much love!

– The (Angry) Rainbows Staff
