McLame Hates Us But Obama’s Making Effort
It was a long and arduous race, but now that we are down to two candidates it is important to focus on each one’s ability to lead this country back into good health. Girl, I care about the issues but number one for me right now is the overall state of the country. I’ve done my research and McLame really bores me. Obama may not be my first choice, but he certainly seems like a good man.
Since California legalized gay marriage, the two front-runners have spoken out about the issues. Neither candidate supports same-sex marriage, but it seems like Obama is going in the right direction for LGBT America.
Check out this cute message the pride breakfast of the LGBT Alice B. Toklas Club in SanFran received: “I
oppose the divisive and discriminatory efforts to amend the California Constitution, and similar efforts to amend the US Constitution or those of other states… I want to congratulate all of you who have shown your love for each other by getting married these last few weeks.”
This man seems to know how to speak to everyone but the religion and gun crazy folk in small town Pennsylvania (bless us all)!
In the message, he also endorsed a bunch of good stuff that we should probably remember: repealing the ban on out-of-the-closet LGBT members in the military and 100% complete equal rights to same-sex couples under state AND federal law! Good bye significance of number 1,138!
As for McLame, you can imagine that all he had to say was, well — lame. As he spoke with some evenagelical leaders in Ohio, he pointed out that he was in support of amending the constitution in order to “recognize marriage as a unique institution between a man and a woman, just as we did in my home state of Arizona.” The next paragraph I read in the Gay City News article seemed so significant, I thought I’d quote it word for word:
“Phil Burgess, who led the successful effort to ban same-sex marriage in the Ohio Constitution in 2004, told the newspaper, ‘We told him if he didn’t come out and share his pro-family stances on these issues, then he can kiss Ohio good-bye.’”
Way to pull those strings, Phil Buttkiss. You’re a jerk! I bet you think homosexuality is caused by childhood trauma too. Well, y’all know how I feel about the situation. What do you think about this coming election regarding gay rights?
